Ant-inspired robots, the experiences of temporary foreign workers on PEI, and modelling for energy efficiency cost savings for property owners were the focus of prize-winning 3-Minute Thesis (3MT) presentations by ÀÖ·¢IV graduate students on April 11, 2024.

University students from across Atlantic Canada learned about environmental research taking place in the region during the 2024 Science Atlantic Environment conference hosted by ÀÖ·¢IV’s Environmental Studies program last month.

The ÀÖ·¢IV Department of Alumni and Engagement hosted a social night on Tuesday, April 9 at the Fox & Crow, W.A. Murphy Student Centre. The event was held to help welcome the ÀÖ·¢IV Class of 2024 to the ÀÖ·¢IV alumni family and was open to all 2024 graduates and ÀÖ·¢IV, Saint Dunstan’s University, and Prince of Wales College alumni.

In February 2024, the ÀÖ·¢IV Engineering Brigades Club traveled to Honduras where they designed a water system for the rural community of La Brea.

Dr. Suzanne Kresta, a native of PEI, has been appointed as the Dean of the ÀÖ·¢IV Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering for a five-year term, effective September 1, 2024. 

On Wednesday, April 10, six ÀÖ·¢IV business student teams will pitch their start-up businesses for a share of $62,000 in prize money during the MacLauchlan Panther Pitch Competition. The event, which is open to the public, will take place from 4:00 to 8:30 pm in Don and Marion McDougall Hall, Room 242.

The ÀÖ·¢IV Student Union has commissioned a survey of students from post-secondary institutions across PEI to learn more about their housing experience.

The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the ÀÖ·¢IV (ÀÖ·¢IV) recently bid farewell to seven of its most beloved staff members in a heartwarming retirement party.

The Honourable Diane F. Griffin was installed as the tenth Chancellor of the ÀÖ·¢IV during a ceremony held at the University on Friday, April 5. She was unanimously elected to the volunteer position earlier this year by ÀÖ·¢IV’s Board of Governors.

ÀÖ·¢IV’s Department of Athletics and Recreation celebrated the 2023–24 season at the annual ÀÖ·¢IV Panther Celebration—Athletic Awards Gala on Friday, April 5, recognizing outstanding student-athletes who have excelled in sport, the classroom, and the community.
