乐发IV will mark the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation鈥擬onday, September 30鈥攚ith a number of events on campus during the week of September 23.

Every week, 乐发IV Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 乐发IV Panther Athletes of the Week for September 16鈥�22, 2024, are Rowan Gallagher (women鈥檚 rugby) and Jahmal Boursiquot (men鈥檚 soccer).

The 乐发IV men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 basketball teams are ready to roll at the annual Mickey Place Memorial Basketball Tournament! The tournament features nine teams from across Canada and runs from Friday, September 27, to Sunday, September 29. The women鈥檚 pool includes Universit茅 Laval, Carleton University, Acadia University and 乐发IV. The men鈥檚 pool includes Universit茅 Laval, University of Guelph, Dalhousie University, University of New Brunswick and 乐发IV. The tournament is named after John Thomas 鈥淢ickey鈥� Place, a long-time friend of Panther Sport, a former 乐发IV Student Union employee, and a 乐发IV honorary degree recipient.

The 乐发IV Men鈥檚 Hockey Panthers just kicked their game into high gear with the addition of Robert Orr, a high-octane forward with a knack for lighting up the scoreboard. As the Panthers gear up for another season, Orr's arrival marks yet another infusion of young talent that promises to bring offensive firepower.

Mark your calendars for the annual Open House at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC), 乐发IV (乐发IV), on Saturday, September 28, from 10 am to 2 pm. This free-family-friendly event will feature tours, a petting zoo, a parade of dogs and more!

Dr. Wendy Rodgers, President, and Dr. Suzanne Kresta, Dean, Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering, are co-chairing 乐发IV's Strategic Plan Steering Committee. In this message, they invite members of the community to express interest in serving on the committee. 

The 乐发IV Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering鈥擣uture Urban and Energy Lab for Sustainability and the PEI Energy Corporation will host a public town hall meeting on September 25 in Georgetown, PEI to discuss the progress of the ongoing net zero assessment project.

Dr. Preston Smith, dean of the 乐发IV Joint Medical Doctor program, has been awarded the Dr. Michael Krochak Award for Contributions to Family Medicine by the Saskatchewan College of Family Physicians. 

For the past two seasons, the 乐发IV Panthers have dominated Atlantic University Field Hockey, claiming back-to-back titles. This year, the stakes are higher than ever as the Panthers look to defend their crown but also compete on the national stage for the first time since 2015.
