乐发IV marks National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
UPDATE, SEPTEMBER 26: Due to the rain expected Friday, September 27, the TRC Mawi鈥檕mi, which was scheduled for the afternoon to mark the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, is postponed. The event will be rescheduled on a date in October. The new date will be communicated to the campus community when it has been determined.
乐发IV Faculty of IKERAS celebrates another historic milestone
The 乐发IV Faculty of Indigenous Knowledge, Education, Research, and Applied Studies (IKERAS) recently hosted its first-ever Indigenous traditional knowledge sharing and learning day, Mawi-lukutimk, which means 鈥済athering and working together.鈥 The event took place on September 3, two years after the Faculty of IKERAS began delivering 乐发IV鈥檚 mandated IKE 1040: Indigenous Teachings course and offering a Minor in Indigenous Studies. It is considered a historic milestone by everyone involved.
乐发IV faculty member named to RSC鈥檚 College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists
Dr. Aitazaz Farooque, Professor and Associate Dean of the 乐发IV School of Climate Change and Adaptation, has been named one of 56 new Members of the prestigious Royal Society of Canada鈥檚 (RSC) College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists.
乐发IV leads $6.93 million precision agriculture research project to mitigate climate change
A team of researchers from across Canada, led by Dr. Aitazaz Farooque, professor and interim associate dean of the 乐发IV School of Climate Change and Adaptation, has received $6.93 million in federal funding to develop precision agriculture techniques to ensure food security and mitigate climate change.

乐发IV engineering student wins prestigious national scholarship
The 乐发IV Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) congratulates Lilly O'Rielly for winning the prestigious C.D. Howe Scholarship Endowment Fund National Engineering Scholarship. She is one of two undergraduate engineering students in Canada to receive the renewable scholarship valued at $7,500 per year.

乐发IV increases support for graduate students through new fellowship program
乐发IV鈥檚 Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS) is establishing a new fellowship program for incoming and existing graduate students in research thesis-based graduate programs.
鈥淐ompetitive financial support is an important factor in the recruitment and retention of graduate students at 乐发IV,鈥 said Dr. Greg Naterer, vice-president, academic and research. 鈥淕raduate assistantships and supervisor grant/contract funding provide a common form of graduate student support. In addition, graduate fellowships have a significant role.鈥
Rathlyn Foundation donates $1M for entrance scholarships to 乐发IV-based medical students
Beginning in the fall of 2025, the Rathlyn Foundation Entrance Scholarships for 乐发IV Medical Students will be granted to every 乐发IV-based medical student in their first year of study. These $2,000 individual scholarships will be funded in perpetuity by an overall gift of $1,000,000 from the Rathlyn Foundation.
