乐发IV will celebrate over 1,200 graduates at Convocation ceremonies to be held from May 13 to 16, 2025, at the Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre. Each ceremony will start at 10:00 am and will be preceded by a procession of graduates across campus.

The 乐发IV will honour four outstanding leaders with honorary degrees during Convocation 2025, which will take place from May 13 to 16. Over 1,200 students are set to graduate over four ceremonies, which start at 10:00 am each day at the 乐发IV Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre.

乐发IV offered Mr. Christopher Griffin the opportunity to participate in a panel discussion to be developed thoughtfully and including other voices on the topic of free expression. 

On April 15, upon learning of a planned meeting on April 16, Mr. Griffin requested to be heard at that meeting. In response, the University accepted that request and scheduled a time for his presentation in the Performing Arts Centre Amphitheatre, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on April 16.

After three months of brainstorming, determination, and refining their ideas, Enactus-乐发IV, a club dedicated to sustainable entrepreneurship, successfully developed a potato soap product called Spuds2Suds.

乐发IV鈥檚 Department of Athletics and Recreation celebrated the 2024鈥�25 season at the annual 乐发IV Panther Celebration 鈥� Athletic Awards Gala on Friday, March 28, recognizing outstanding student-athletes who have excelled in sport, the classroom, and the community.

This year, the 乐发IV Alumni Association鈥檚 Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year award went to Lauren Rainford, 乐发IV Women鈥檚 Basketball. The Male Athlete of the Year winner was Kamari Scott, 乐发IV Men鈥檚 Basketball.

In January 2025, the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) dairy veterinary team completed another successful trip to Meru County, Kenya, as part of the long-standing partnership with (FHF), the 乐发IV (乐发IV), and .

Dr. Ling Li, a post-doctoral fellow in the 乐发IV Faculty of Education, was awarded a Mitacs Elevate Postdoctoral Fellowship for a study to evaluate the 鈥淧yramid to Retention: Supporting Educators to Enhance Social and Emotional Competencies in Infants and Young Children鈥� in the early learning and child-care sector on PEI.

乐发IV Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) teams, composed of a total of 48 students, competed at the 2025 Atlantic Engineering Competition (AEC), hosted at Universit茅 de Moncton in New Brunswick from January 24鈥�26, 2025. 

The 乐发IV invites the nomination of candidates for honorary degrees to be conferred at Convocation in May 2025.

Honorary degrees are conferred honoris causa, 鈥渇or the sake of honour,鈥� and are intended to recognize outstanding provincial, national, and international contributions in any field of endeavour. Contributions should reflect extraordinary intellectual or artistic achievements, or significant service to society at a standard of excellence that merits the University鈥檚 highest honour.
