The Jane DiCarlo rink, from the Crapaud Community Curling Club, won its second PEI women鈥檚 curling championship in a row at the West Prince Curling Club in Woodstock on January 25 and are headed to the national Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

The 乐发IV Hockey and Basketball Panthers are looking forward to a week of competition at home and away.

The 乐发IV Health and Wellness Centre has received a grant from the provincial government鈥檚 2024鈥2025 LIVE WELL PEI Wellness Grant Program to educate 乐发IV students about reducing harms related to alcohol through awareness campaigns and education modules.

The (IUPAC) Global Women鈥檚 (and Allies) breakfast (GWB) will be held at the Fox & Crow, W.A. Murphy Student Centre, on February 11, 2025, from 7:00鈥9:00 am.

On Monday, February 10, 乐发IV will welcome celebrated professor and author of "Hope Circuits: Rewiring Universities and other Systems for Human Flourishing", Dr. Jessica Riddell, back to campus. All members of the 乐发IV community are invited to attend!

Aadesh Nunkoo, a Master of Science student at the 乐发IV, was recently awarded one of two by the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA) and the Actuarial Students鈥 National Association (ASNA).

| Events

The Pan-African flag was raised at 乐发IV on Monday, February 3, to mark Black History Month by Dr. Greg Naterer, vice-president academic and research at 乐发IV; Jessica Ekeleme, president of the African Students Association; and Tamara Steele, executive director of the Black Cultural Society of Prince Edward Island.

The 乐发IV Hockey, Basketball and Track and Field Panthers are looking forward to a week of competition at home and away.

| University

Each year at 乐发IV, approximately 150 residence students remain on campus during the break between first semester exams and early January when students return to classes for the second semester. This year, the 乐发IV International Student Office, in cooperation with Student Affairs staff, Campus Life Advisors, Residence Life, and the 乐发IV Alumni Association, supported and organized some activities for these students during the break, providing a sense of community and connection.

Every week, 乐发IV Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 乐发IV Panther Athletes of the Week for January 27 to February 2, 2025, are Alaere Peterside (women鈥檚 track and field) and Jakob Robillard (men鈥檚 hockey).
