Anna Harris and Jack Roberts named 乐发IV Panther Athletes of the Week
Every week, 乐发IV Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 乐发IV Panther Athletes of the Week for September 2-8, 2024, are Anna Harris (women鈥檚 cross country) and Jack Roberts (men鈥檚 cross country).
Harris had one of her strongest performances as a Panther at the Acadia University Invitational meet in Wolfville, Nova Scotia on September 7. The sophomore runner and Science student from Souris, PEI led the pack for most of the 8 km race before finishing fourth overall with a time of 31:56.
鈥淲e knew Anna was getting faster and trending toward this result, but to come in fourth as a sophomore is a tremendous accomplishment,鈥� said head coach Mike Peterson.
A fourth-year Arts student from Charlottetown, Roberts had a strong run in his season debut at the Invitational, finishing as 乐发IV's top runner and 11th overall with a time of 27:56.
鈥淭his has been a long time coming for Jack,鈥� said coach Peterson. 鈥淗e has been working tirelessly for years, and it is great to see his hard work pay off.鈥�
