A celebration of the literary achievements of Deirdre Kessler

A celebration of author Deirdre Kessler鈥檚 contributions to the PEI literary community will take place on Thursday, March 20, at 7:00 pm in Schurman Market Square, Don and Marion McDougall Hall, 乐发IV. The evening will be co-hosted by Dr. Richard Lemm, 乐发IV professor and Island author, and Dr. Laurie Brinklow, coordinator of the Master of Arts in Island Studies program at 乐发IV. It will include short readings of Kessler鈥檚 work by other Island writers, students, and friends. 

School of Climate Change and Adaptation's climate career day

Students are invited to the School of Climate Change and Adaptation鈥檚 climate career day, an opportunity for students and climate sector organizations to meet face-to-face to learn about climate adaptation projects and potential summer jobs or full-time opportunities on PEI.

Students are encouraged to come and network with climate professionals, potential employers, find a summer job, or kick start a career.

Admission is free for students.

Panthers on the prowl: 乐发IV鈥檚 Peterside and Ikpotokin chase greatness in U SPORTS track and field

With the 2025 Biosteel U SPORTS Track and Field Championships set to take place March 6鈥8, at the University of Windsor, Windsor, Ontario, 乐发IV student-athletes Alaere Peterside and Helena Ikpotokin are ready to showcase their talents on the national stage.

Both athletes punched their tickets to the championship by winning gold at the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) Championships last weekend. Peterside claimed the high jump title with a 1.71m leap, while Ikpotokin dominated the 300-metre dash with a time of 39.83 seconds.

Celebrate Panther Pride and 乐发IV Basketball Success!

The Office of Student Culture and Community Standards is calling all Panthers, including students, staff, and faculty members, to join us on Friday, March 7, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, at The Fox & Crow to celebrate the 乐发IV Women's Basketball team's success and the 乐发IV Men's Basketball team's monumental and record-breaking victory at the Atlantic University Sports (AUS) Championship.

Mark your calendar to join colleagues to discuss How Humans Learn: The Science and Stories behind Effective College Teaching on Friday March 21, at 2:30 at the Fox and Crow. Teaching is challenging. One way to make it easier is to know more about the ways students learn. This book lets us take a look behind the curtain, bringing together research from many fields with insights into the science behind learning.

Deborah Aboagye and Kamari Scott named 乐发IV Source for Sports Panther Athletes of the Week

Every week, 乐发IV Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 乐发IV Source for Sports Panther Athletes of the Week for February 24 to March 2, 2025, are Deborah Aboagye (women鈥檚 basketball) and Kamari Scott (men鈥檚 basketball).

Coffee Chats with the President

Join 乐发IV President Wendy Rodgers for casual  鈥渃offee chats鈥 at Tim Horton's in the W.A. Murphy Student Centre, beginning this Friday, March 7 from 8:15-9:15 am.

These coffee chats offer a relaxed setting where any member of the 乐发IV community can drop by, grab a drink, and chat with Wendy about anything on your mind. Whether you want to share ideas, ask questions, or simply say hello, these chats are a great way to connect with the president in a comfortable and informal environment.
